Born in The Netherlands on the 28th of March in 1992. Elmer's musical journey started in 1998 with two years of general musical education. before picking up the guitar at the start of the millenium. 

During his highschool years, Elmer became increasingly passionate about creating and performing live music. At the age of 17, Elmer auditioned several conservatories 2009 and got approved at the Rockacademy in Tilburg (NED). Three-and-a-half instructive but unsatisfactory years followed before Elmer eventually became a 'drop out' at the end of 2012. 

Since 2013, Elmer has been active as a guitar teacher at various music schools and played in multiple bands. Including heavy metal, classic (blues) rock, psychedelic funk, big bands, pop and folk with singersongwriters. Several times Elmer toured all over Europe with the Russian band The Grand Astoria, Blacktop and Emellan. 

​Just before covid-19 hit the world Elmer finished his full lenght solo-album 'Embodiment'. An album where, instead of the guitar, the music and its performers in general are at the main centre. It gives the listener a more autobiographical perspective of Elmer. 

After a sabbatical, Elmer has been back on stage since the summer of 2023 with various projects. Including Duskhead where Elmer once again joins forces with Rogier Berben. The first recordings are planned for the summer of 2024.​
